Welcome Michelle’s new service dog prospect Eden

Michelle’s current service dog Eli has worked by Michelle’s side now for nearly 6 years. Although overall Eli is very healthy, in preparation for him getting older (he is 10 now) and for his eventual retirement they welcomed a pup into their family, Eden, a ~3 month old mini goldendoodle.

Eden has already begun his training with socialization, crate training, potty training, leash walking, exposure to a variety of things and outings to dog friendly places.

Taking Off the Mask

Hiding behind a mask meant hiding my pain, the severity of my trauma, and repressing my needs to keep the peace and blend into society. But one can only wear a mask for so long.

Survivor Lesson:

In each chapter of  Survivor not Victim book(s), Michelle breaks down what she refers to as ‘Survivor Lessons’ she has learned. Here is one of those lessons here.

Survivor Lesson: Advocacy

From Michelle:

I almost lost my feet! In fact, the doctors had a plan to amputate them and my grandma stepped in and put a stop to it. She taught me from a young age how to advocate for myself and others.

Thank you Grandma for not only saving my feet but also teaching me this Survivor Lesson on my path to thriving.
